About the event

Ljubljana is the capital and largest city of Slovenia. It is regarded as the cultural, scientific, economic, political, administrative and philosophical center of Slovenia. The city has been inhabited since prehistoric times and many remnants of ancient Roman Emona can be seen while strolling along the streets. Modern Ljubljana bears a strong stamp of the architecture of Jože Plečnik, whose 150th anniversary of birth is being celebrated this year. With the largest university nationwide and many institutes, Ljubljana is also an important research center.

Venue

The Master/s conference will take place at Cankarjev Dom, which is Slovenia’s largest Cultural and Congress centre. It is located in the heart of Ljubljana, the capital of Slovenia. The centre is within walking distance of practically every hotel.

How to reach Cankarjev Dom by public transport:

From the main bus or railway station bus No. 9 will take you to our immediate vicinity – the Drama stop, where busses No. 1, 3, 6 and 19 also stop. Not far away there is also bus stop Kongresni trg, where busses No. 2, 10, 11, 13, 17, 20, 21 stops. Bus No 14 will also bring you near Cankarjev dom – to Prešeren street.

Parking

Limited on-site parking is available, but visitors are also able to park at the nearby parking house Šubičeva and Kongresni trg.

Access

Access is provided for visitors with disabilities.

Wifi access: There is a wireless internet network (CD_GUEST) available for the participants of the conference.

Useful information for visitors

Slovenia is located in the Central European time zone (CET/CEST), which covers most of Western/Central Continental Europe, except for the United Kingdom and Portugal.

Main power supply is 230 V, 50 Hz, Schuko plugs. Visitors from the United Kingdom, North America, Australia, New Zealand and the Far East will need appropriate adapters. 

European Economic Area nationals and Swiss nationals should obtain, and have always on them, their European Health Insurance Card. All other nationals are advised to arrange an appropriate health insurance cover for the duration of their stay in Slovenia.

Tap water is safe to drink and even preferable to bottled water as the quality of tap water in Ljubljana is really high.
